Announcing two keynotes confirmed
First two keynotes confirmed for IGC 2020
We are pleased to announce we have confirmed our first two keynotes for IGC 2020, with one more to be confirmed.
Introducing Tuari Potiki (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Mamoe, Waitaha).
Mr Potiki is Director of the Office of Maori Development at the University of Otago and the chair of the New Zealand Drug Foundation. He has contrubuted to alcohol and other drug practice and has played a significant role in informing the education and training of workforces in the addiction treatment sector. He has lived experience and has moved beyond recovery into a space that is about living life well.
Introducing Professor John B Saunders
John B. Saunders is Professor and Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine, with appointments at the University of Queensland and University of Sydney, and with the Wesley and St. John of God hospital groups in Australia. He has worked with the World Health Organization since the early 1980s and was responsible for developing the AUDIT questionnaire. Professor Saunders has published six books, including Addiction Medicine, and over 360 research papers, articles, reviews and book chapters in the peer-reviewed scientific literature.
